Kenneth James is an executive coach, leadership development expert and former energy efficiency director for Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Trained as a scientist and social scientist, Kenneth founded the James Leadership Group, a strategic leadership consulting practice to help organizations build and grow their leadership capacity. Working with leaders in transition from one leadership level to another, his work takes a strategic view of leadership development, leadership thinking, organizational planning, and communication. Through assessments, coaching, and facilitated learning, he approaches leadership development in a deliberate and integrated way. Prior to establishing James Leadership Group, Kenneth was manager at a public utility company where he has in-depth experience leading and managing people and cross-function teams, designing research, performing measurement and evaluation, and conducting process improvement and employee engagement. Kenneth?s broad multidisciplinary experience includes being an adjunct professor of business and leadership and serving as board president for several non-profit organizations. Kenneth has written, published, and presented numerous papers in the science and social science fields. To avoid derailment of promising leadership talent and to effectively manage the complex relationship between leaders and their followers require a strategic and systemic approach to leadership development. He holds a PhD from the University of San Francisco.
